Ron's Art Story

My PhotoIn the images on this page is a photograph of me sitting across from the majestic range of mountains that line the Jasper to Banff highway, and then a painting  that I completed following that trip. I have drawn and painted all of my life. I traded a painting for a VW Beetle to transport me to college. Forty-five years ago I planned to become a visual and graphic artist. Instead art became a pastime. Visual pictures gave way to word pictures as I invested forty-five years as a church pastor and as a denominational executive. Along the way I completed graduate studies earning master's and doctoral degrees. I have never regretted my choice of altruistic service and in August 2008 I retired. Occasionally through the years I picked up my palette and brushes and surmised that one day I would devote more time to my art and that is what I have done. When people ask, I tell them I have returned with passion to the canvas to depict the faces and places of God's creation.
